Giving this a shot

So, I decided that it is time for me to try my hand at a little blogging.  I read friends' blogs all the time, and I don't know if they will read mine if I keep up with one, but I sometimes want to just put some thoughts down because I am thinking them and this seems like a good place to do that. I named this blog "carrying a pearl" because a phrase from one of my favorite songs (U2's "Grace") says, "she carries a pearl in perfect condition." The song describes the concept of grace as if it were a woman, and every time I hear it I wish I could paint a picture of the song, and then somehow become it. Gratefully, since Jesus is full of grace and truth, and since He has me on a path to becoming ever more like Him, I am confident that someday I will embody the grace that the song describes. I also hope that I will be a good steward of the perfect pearl that He has commissioned me to share with the world. So, here I am, we'll see how this goes!
